Artist's Statement
KIM FATALE is a Brooklyn-based performance artist whose works explore the relationship between pain and human connection. Using painful life experiences as a platform for her performances, KIM FATALE calls attention to issues such as alcoholism, depression and suicidal ideation, and the oppression of women. By interacting with the audience, KIM FATALE brings onlookers into her world of pain, touching on issues that are largely relatable. These shared experiences establish a vulnerability within audience members so that they may connect with each other and the performer. During this period of vulnerability, KIM FATALE finds strength as a dominant woman, using cathartic forms of release for herself and the audience.
